The Hog Barn
The Hog Barn as it was lovingly named was a turn of the century barn that was dismantled just outside of Manchester, Iowa and recontructed (with some modifications) at Center Point, Iowa. The construction of the barn started in June and was secured by September. This started out as a week end project for the owners, and they soon realized that they needed alot more man power. Silver Brothers Construction was hired to assist. The owners of the barn just happen to be my Aunt and Uncle. I began helping them at the very beginning of the project by measuring the barn at the location in Manchester so that we could pour footings and build the wall. The weather proved to be our worst enemy since it seemed to rain almost every week-end! Eventually the footings and wall were completed. When we began the next phase of the project- the constuction of the bents we soon realized we needed more man power and some equipment that would lift them in place. Below are some photos of the project as it unfolded.

Wildside Tattoo
Silver Brothers Construction was hired to rebuild Wildside Tattoo in Cedar Rapids, Iowa after the devastating flood of 2008 demolished their building. The work began in January of 2009 and the parlor reopened in May of 2009.
